I have two family members that are narcissists. Spoke to my Priest about them. He said, you don’t have to be around people who are not good for you. He said, you can forgive them from a distance. So, apparently, we still need to forgive them and pray for them. The forgiveness is not for their benefit, it is for our benefit. So that darkness doesn’t build up in us, in our hearts. If you can avoid them, do so. If you can’t avoid them, I only us 4 words/phrases in their presence. Yes, No, I don’t Know, maybe so. If they ask me so, what have you been up to. I say oh a little of this and a little of that. I don’t give them anything. Nothing to criticize or attack. Avoid their questioning, it’s a trap.

Great work.. 🙌, without saying a word explained it so accurately. This really needs empathy to understand and feel for someone else’s sufferings. More support to your work, keep helping people. Let the healing begin.

Yep. Great advice. When I filed for divorce after 20 years with the narc, my circle got very small because of all of the mutual friends we had. I discovered they were almost ALL being used in some way by him, and that I had only a couple friends that he didn't have his claws into. He had isolated me from having individual friends in order to control me. As difficult as it was, I let all of those people go and kept my circle tiny, with only people I knew I could 100% trust, and made those people like my family. It's more peaceful that way.

I was very sceptical before I opened the video, because who are we to know what God has planned for our fellow humans under the sky? but you really grabed the core essence of it, and it was a confirmation for me. in the beginning I prayed that it was a waste of time, effort, love and money. but lately I started to change my prayers, and I am actually thankful. I dont see it as a waste of time anymore, because God used me to guide them, and to bring them to light. I think I have done my part, and I left it at God's feet. 🙏❤

When I was younger I didn’t know how to recognize the signs.I naively thought everyone was generally good unless the did something obviously terrible like steal or kill etc. I’m really happy to say I can deal with people like this now! God has really given me the tools and strength and wisdom. I had complex trauma from parental narcissism and then left a highly toxic marriage in my 30s - really a lifetime of learning and pain. I now help co-host an Airbnb and encounter all sorts of people - most regular, some gracious, but this month a young adult who right away had constant markers for narcissism. A very polite student on the surface, and an attention seeking, gas lighting, insecure, boundary shoving, game playing, vengeful, angry, weak, and most of all disrespectful individual deep down. The Bible teaches us to love others as ourselves. It’s taken a lot of praying and distancing for me to continue to be a kind person while not being a pushover and accepting the behavior as any part of my personality. I think that’s really what narcs are looking for - they have these awful feelings that they try to make others take ownership of. I can feel at ease with myself knowing that the choices I make are not made with evil or selfish intent. God cares for us. Even if narcs don’t. Nothing else really matters. No one can steal your self worth by talking trash, putting you down, going out of their way to make your life worse. And nothing works better than not letting someone like that disrupt your own peace. So glad to know I have grown! Thank you God did not let me be overcome by this person, that I could see it, and knew how to make the situation better not worse.

Just yesterday I said there is EVIL in this life form who is my spouse. Ty for saying this in your 1st few sentences. The friend I said this to didn’t understand. And they are aware of the abuse. Without channels like this those of us that are victims have no validation of how a narc enjoys destroying others.

This makes absolute sense now. No wonder!

When the abuser phoned our friends and said, "It's either her or me!", some chose me, some chose him, and some dissed us both. People forget about you if you're too negative. Now he is alone. Even chewed out our grown kid for no reason. The kid was "the only person who would speak" to him. Not any more. His tirade was recorded. Bad, mean, sick... Yes hypocritical. He lies. He lies alone... Sad.

It takes a lot of time to get in contact with all the dark colour's of narc parents or partners. Inclusive Teacher, Doctors and others. To develope these power is going more than twice times through the desert. But at the end it's really a healthy strength, to be "Mitfühlend" for his own and become clear. My narc ex knew very well I hated arguments with rage, so he went out of his way to keep calm when we had a disagreement! He knew very well that I'll appreciate his calmness. He only showed his raging side after I split up with him.
